  • Onsite reconstruction project for Echo Loder Elementary School

    Washoe County School District continues 2023 Facility Modernization Plan (FMP) work at Reno elementary school site.

    Echo Loder Elementary School was built in the 1950s and was identified in the 2023 FMP as a site for design and reconstruction on the current campus and to be built to current education specifications for up to 875 students. The new school building will be built on the existing site and may include a “tread-up” scenario for other students.

    Highlights:

    • One of the first 2023 FMP projects to be approved.
    • Build a brand-new elementary school using the current elementary school prototype model.
    • A two-story building with approximately 95,000 square feet that will have space for up to 875 students.
    • State-of-the-art teaching and learning spaces including 32 classrooms, a media center, and collaborative group learning spaces.
    • Design work began in early 2025 and construction work is scheduled to begin in fall 2025.
    • Expected completion date before the start of the 2027/2028 school year.
