  • Mission Statement

    The mission of the Office of Continuous Improvement is to ensure broad access to accurate and timely student and school level information to be used for educational decision making and to support the use of this information by providing high quality technical assistance and professional development to school and department personnel so that every student may graduate college and highly skilled career ready.

    Major Functions of the Office of Continuous Improvement

    Supporting schools by providing data tools and reports that can be used to promote student
    achievement, equity, and educational decision-making

    • Building dashboards to support all stakeholders in the use of data, including through WCSDData.net and the BIG Data Warehouse

    • Support for schools on using the Nevada School Performance Framework and requirements to guide school performance planning

    • Support of the School Performance Plan (SPP) process and requirements

    • Building school and district capacity to engage in and utilize student voice for school and district improvement

    • Conducting applied research to support the District's Strategic Plan and initiatives

    • Conducting program evaluations in support of the district's
      strategic efforts (includes grant evaluation support for major grant initiatives)

    • Complying with federal and state accountability
      requirements

    • Responding to specific data requests from school personnel,
      department personnel, and external agencies and community members

    The aim of the Office of Continuous Improvement is to provide support for data-driven decision making throughout the district. Assistance often comes in the form of a) facilitation in short, intermediate, and long-term goal identification, b) development of capacity among program leaders and participants to collect evidence pertaining to program objectives and goal attainment, c) technical assistance in accessing, interpreting, and using data in meaningful ways, d) guidance in sharing evaluation findings to key audiences, and e) writing and executing detailed evaluation plans for proposed programs and initiatives for grant and planning purposes.
