Welcome to Washoe County School District Extended Studies!


    The Extended Studies Office is dedicated to supporting all students in achieving academic success by offering an optional means to a superior education through program offerings outside of the traditional classroom setting.


    All courses offered by The Extended Studies Office are only available to students currently enrolled full time in a Washoe County School District school or WCSD sponsored Charter School.

Course/Program Description
Community Service Students may earn a ½ elective credit by submitting evidence of 60 hours of community service
Homeschool Filing An option for parents who wish to educate their children at home ages 7 to 18.
Physical Education (PE) Students may earn a ½ PE credit per semester by taking group classes at an approved fitness facility. Students must participate in 60 hours of scheduled group classes taught by a certified instructor (video classes are not accepted) within the semester to earn credit.
Supervised Curriculum Physical Education (SCPE) Students may earn a ½ PE credit per semester by participating in an approved pre-professional/ competitive sport
