OUR MISSION:
The Extended Studies Office is committed to helping all students succeed academically by providing alternative pathways to high-quality education through programs offered beyond the traditional classroom environment.
STUDENT ELIGIBILITY:
All courses offered by the Extended Studies Office are exclusively available to students who are currently enrolled full-time in a Washoe County School District school or a WCSD-sponsored charter school.

| Course/Program | Description |
|---|---|
| Community Service | Students may earn a ½ elective credit by submitting evidence of 60 hours of community service for a 501C3 non-profit organization. |
| Homeschool Filing | An option for parents who wish to educate their children at home ages 6 to 18. |
| Physical Education (PE) | Students may earn a ½ PE credit per semester by taking group classes at an approved fitness facility. Students must participate in 60 hours of scheduled group classes taught by a certified instructor (video classes are not accepted) within the semester to earn credit. |
| Supervised Curriculum Physical Education (SCPE) | Students may earn a ½ PE credit per semester by participating in an approved pre-professional/ competitive sport |
