  • Board Policy 3360 - Teacher Reimbursement for School Supplies

This policy was created in 2019 but is proposed to be deleted due to the de-funding of the State’s teacher supply reimbursement program.

Senate Bill 324 (2019) required the board of trustees of each school district to adopt a policy that established the manner by which teachers and other eligible employees were reimbursed for classroom supplies through the State’s teachers supply reimbursement grant program.  Accordingly, Washoe County School District (“the District”) prepared and adopted the required policy, choosing to provide monies to eligible employees upfront rather than requiring receipts for expenses.  The Governor’s recommended budget for the 2021-2023 biennium did not include funding for this grant program, and the K-12 funding bill (Senate Bill 458) that was recently passed by the legislature also failed to provide funding.  Therefore, we recommend deletion of this policy and the associated regulation.
