Department Spotlight Project SEARCH
This quarter's spotlight focuses on Project SEARCH. Project SEARCH is a high school transition program modeled on a nationally recognized program developed at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. The program provides transition-age students prepartation for competitive employment that takes place entirely at the host site. Student interns receive on the job training through worksite rotations as well as classroom instruction. The interns work with jobsite mentors, a licensed instructor, and a job coach. Interns receive continuous feedback. The goal is competitive employment for each intern.
Our first Project Search site is the Renaissance Hotel. Our student interns are learning skills in the Banquets and Catering, Style, and Kitchen departments. The staff at the Renasissance Hotel have wholeheartedly embraced our student interns and continue to work closely with them to ensure their success.
The Office of Student Services is pleased to Announce that the Reflective Roadmap is now available for Families and Staff online and from individual school sites. The Roadmap is a tool to help guide parents and guardians through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process.
This document is provided in an effort to assist families and staff in creating a comprehensive and collaborative Individualized Educational Program. The Roadmap gives the opportunity for families to reflect on their student's needs, concerns, and goals for the future.
