  • Welcome to WCSD!

Welcome to the Washoe County School District’s enrollment and registration page. WCSD is the second-largest school system in the state of Nevada and offers a wide array of educational opportunities for all students. Whether your family has been enrolled in our schools previously or if you are new to Washoe County or the district, online registration must be completed each school year for all students.

Online registration for the 2024-25 school year opened Dec. 1, 2023 for all students. To better help us in planning for the upcoming school year, please complete this registration as soon as possible. WCSD uses Infinite Campus to handle all online registration and the system is available in both English and Spanish.

    Online Registration

If you are ready to begin the registration process, we’ve outlined the steps below. If you want to learn more about all the educational opportunities, programs, and activities within WCSD, please scroll down.

If you have a returning WCSD student and are familiar with our Infinite Campus Parent Portal, please proceed to the login page to continue. The process is the same if you have a new incoming student in the district.

If you have an incoming kindergarten student or a student new to WCSD and do not have another student currently enrolled in a WCSD school, please begin online registration using this link for new students.  Once you complete the online registration, bring the required documents - birth certificate, immunization record, and proof of address - to the school to finalize the registration process.

For more information on the online registration process, please watch these videos, which are available in English and Spanish.

    School of Choice

School of Choice is a system where Washoe County School District (WCSD) families can choose which school they want their children to attend. This process was formerly known as the variance process. WCSD has streamlined this process for our families, making it more accessible.  The District will offer two windows when families can apply to a school other than their student’s zoned school.  The first window was December 1st, 2023 through December 31st, 2023. The final window for the 2024-25 school year is March 1st through March 15th, 2024.

We believe students will be the most successful in the school where they feel connected and seen and with an academic program that best suits their needs. Generally, if a desired school has capacity in the building and at grade level, is fully staffed and the student's family can handle transportation to and from the school, a student's variance request will be accepted. The School of Choice application is available through Online Registration. Online Registration must be completed to be considered for a School of Choice placement.
