OUR MISSION:
The Extended Studies Office is dedicated to supporting all students in achieving academic success by offering an optional means to a superior education through program offerings outside of the traditioal classroom setting.
STUDENT ELIGIBILITY:
All courses offered by The Extended Studies Office are only available to students currently enrolled full time in a Washoe County School District school.

Quick Links to Courses and Services Offered
Course/Program | Description |
---|---|
Community Service | Students may earn a ½ elective credit by submitting evidence of 60 hours of community service |
Homeschool Filing | An option for parents who wish to educate their children at home ages 7 to 18. |
HS Summer Graduation | Seniors completing their graduation requirements during the summer are eligible to participate in the Summer graduation ceremony. |
Physical Education (PE) | Students may earn a ½ PE credit per semester by taking group classes at an approved fitness facility. Students must participate in 60 hours of scheduled group classes taught by a certified instructor (video classes are not accepted) within the semester to earn credit. |
Supervised Curriculum Physical Education (SCPE) | Students may earn a ½ PE credit per semester by participating in an approved pre-professional/ competitive sport |
