"The Panther Air Wing"
The Panther Air Wing, NV-20012, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and our Cadet Corps of 200+ has hit the ground running for the 2021-2022 school year. Although our Cadet Corps, school, community and Nation face unique and daunting challenges, our cadets are already aiming high and are steadfast in their commitment to our core values – “Integrity First, Service Before Self and Excellence in All We Do.” We will continue our tradition of giving back to the community, strengthening partnerships with our feeder middles schools and community organizations such as the Food Bank of Northern Nevada and the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, and will forge new partnerships as well. We will build on the success of our competition programs including our Cyber Patriot, Drill, Marksmanship and Raider teams to maintain our reputation as one of Nevada’s best. We will also continue our partnerships with local aviation organizations such as Nevada Soaring, Pathways to Aviation, and the Nevada Civil Air Patrol, providing our Cadets unique opportunities to soar high above Reno and the surrounding areas. Last year our cadets earned two prestigious national scholarships – one for the AFJROTC’s prestigious Flight Academy at Purdue University Sterling Aviation and one for the AFJROTC Cyber Academy to Norwich University. We hope to build on that success this year. Finally, we will look for new ways to maintain and strengthen the tight bonds that exist within our Corps of Cadets Through all these activities, the Panther Air Wing will continue to “develop citizens of character, dedicated to serving their nation and community,” providing our Nation with its future leaders.
