Renown Internship Presentations
In December 2018, the WCSD internship students presented their medical internship experiences in Mack Auditorium at Renown Medical Center. In an expanding collaborative effort between WCSD Signatures and CTE, WCSD Gifted and Talented Program (GATE), and Renown Medical center, 36 students had the opportunity to participate in medical internships this last semester. Students from throughout the district had the chance to share their experiences shadowing and interning in departments throughout the hospital. The event was well attended by family and friends. It was evident that these experiences impacted the students and their future career choices. Students shared moving experiences like witnessing a death, or a birth, all under the watchful guidance of Renown's caring staff. Listening to their stories revealed how much impact experiences like this have for students. Renown has facilitated this opportunity with access to real life experiences that allow students to experience the medical field first hand.
Thank you to all who facilitated this amazing opportunity for students, especially Brittany Brown, Renown Manager of Recruitment, Dana Ryan, Director of Signatures & CTE, WCSD, Cheri DiMartino, GATE Director, WCSD and Bett Korinek, GATE Internship Coordinator.
