MISSION STATEMENT
The mission and purpose of extracurricular and athletic programs in the Washoe County School District is to promote the physical, mental, moral, social and emotional growth of its participants. The Student Activity and Athletic Department ensures a positive force in the preparation of our youth for an enriching extra-curricular experience. The Student Activity & Athletic Department is an integral part of the total school program. We are strongly connected to the academic success of every student, regardless of individual differences. The student gives their time, energy, loyalty and commitment by participating in the programs offered by the Student Activities & Athletics Department.Christopher McAnany is our Clubs and Activities Coordinator. Changes to Coach's Fingerprint Process.

Background Services & Fingerprinting
Fingerprints are completed at: Fingerprinting Express, 5000 Smithridge Dr., Suite #A-9, Reno, NV 89502.
A WCSD Fingerprint form is required for all printing.
Coaches: Contact the HR Generalist for your site or the HR Welcome Center at 775-348-0346 for the necessary paperwork and instructions.
Coaches: $58.50 is payable at Fingerprinting Express. For the necessary paperwork and instructions, contact the school hiring site HR Generalist.
Background processing and ID badges are completed at the District Administration Building,
425 East 9th Street, Reno, Nevada 89512, Building A Human Resources Welcome Center.*Non-paid Coaches - your school administration must complete and sign your application, and you must visit Volunteer Services before being fingerprinted.

Badges are issued at the HR Welcome Center 425 E 9th, at the back of building A. Badges are issued from 8:00 to 3:30 pm, closed from 12 to 1 for lunch. If you change location, please come in and get a badge which matches your current location.
Badges are valid for 5 years from the fingerprint date.

DoCRC (OCR) Training Sessions for the 25-26 School Year
All 2024-2025 WCSD NEW coaches are required to take this course prior to the start of their athletic season. The dates of the trainings are listed below. This course is only a 1hr training session in person. Please click on the link for the date you can attend. Be sure to include your email, cell number, school, sport and position you are coaching! This training is now good for 3 years.
