    What does it mean to be self-funded? 

    The Washoe County School District Health Insurance Fund is self-funded. Being self-funded means that WCSD is responsible for the paying the claims of our members. For example, if you are on the PPO plan, when you go an in-network doctor, you are responsible for your co-pay, but WCSD pays the remainder of your claim.

    WCSD partners with many different vendors to create a rich plan for WCSD employees.
