Tier Three: Individualized Intensive Interventions (Few)

The Tier Three system is intensive and individualized interventions for students who are unresponsive to Tier One and Tier Two practices. Practices within Tier Three are derived from strong identification of the function of behavior and promote prosocial replacement behavior(s).  As Tier Three is the most intensive level of intervention, only 1-5% of the student population should require this degree of care.

  • Extensive data collection system to drive decisions and fidelity implementation

Practices:

  • Continuum use of Functional Based Assessments (FBA)
  • Wraparound services
  • Social significance—Cultural and contextually sound
