STEP 1

Nye Lane, Carson City, NV 89703If you are collecting PERS, you must have received your first check before we can rehire you.STEP 2A - If you have had a separation in employment from WCSDComplete/update a Washoe County School District "certified” application*. Click here to create an online account. If you leave the district under unfavorable circumstances, it is possible you may not be approved to substitute as a teacher.
PLEASE NOTE: Once your application is complete, please attach it to the Guest (Substitute) Teacher job posting and follow the instructions provided.
All district positions require two (2) returned confidential references, one of which must be from your current or previous direct supervisor. Please provide email addresses for your references in the application so they can be sent electronically. Notify your references that you will be using them as part of the WCSD application process and encourage them to respond as soon as possible.
*Your references cannot be older than 18 months. If they are, you need to submit new ones.
Step 2B - If you are currently collecting PERS and are transitioning to substitute teaching without a break in employment with WCSD, please complete these forms and return them to our office in person.STEP 3Please send a photo to use for your badge to Suboffice@Washoeschools.net
Use the following criteria for your photo:
- A good likeness of your current appearance, taken within the last six months.
- Your photo must be a clear image of ONLY you (not blurry, grainy, or fuzzy) against a plain background.
- The photo must be a full face-and-shoulders shot, squarely facing the camera.
- You must use a portrait (not landscape) photo that is correctly oriented.
- You must be facing the camera.
- You cannot wear a hat or dark glasses.
- It must be in JPEG file format.
STEP 4GUEST TEACHERS ARE REQUIRED TO WORK AT LEAST 10 TIMES A YEAR.COUNTING BEGINS IN THE MONTH YOU ARE HIRED.
