• Every WCSD school has a r-engagement specialist assigned to them.  These specialists work to both help to re-engage and re-enroll students who have been withdrawn from school and then provide case management and support for students once they are re-enrolled.  Some ways in which your school Re-Engagement Specialist might be able to help you support these students include:

    • Help with students who have been withdrawn from school due to whereabouts unknown or are at risk for being dropped due to no-contact.
    • Provide intense case management for both students and families to help ensure that barriers to student attendance are alleviated/remedied so that students are able to refocus on school and attend regularly.
    • Continue to check in with students on a regular basis once students re-enroll into an educational program or their zoned schools. Specialists will work with school staff to identify a school team member that the student(s) can continue to work closely with, when their time with the specialist ends.
      • Cases management services are voluntary, but periodic checks-ins will happen with a student until re-enrollment happens, re-engagement will work closely with Department of Human Services around ed-neglect for students who continue to remain unenrolled from school.
