It is an honor to serve the students, families, and staff as Area Superintendent in the Washoe County School District.  I have been a part of the WCSD team for 26 years beginning as a teacher at Alyce Taylor Elementary and Billinghurst Middle School.  My administrative career began as an Assistant Principal at Stead Elementary and then moved into the Principal role serving at Rollan Melton Elementary, Glenn Duncan Elementary, and Peavine Elementary.  I then transitioned to district office administration working in the Human Resources department to facilitate the development of Nevada’s first Peer Assistance and Review program to assist teachers and administrators to improve their practice and become and the best educators possible.  While in Human Resources, I oversaw the Professional Growth Systems and Talent Acquisition departments.  Before my appointment to Area Superintendent, I was the proud principal at Miguel Sepulveda Elementary.

As an Area Superintendent I am committed to supporting schools and principals in their work of raising student achievement, building positive school environments for all students to thrive, improving social-emotional learning, and ensuring that all students graduate from Washoe County School District college and career ready!
