Associate Chief: Melynda BakerAssistant: Mariana MandujanoPhone: 775-789-4657I am honored to be in service to our Washoe County School District learning community as an Associate Chief of Secondary Teaching, Learning, and Leading. I have been an educator for 22 years and have worked in the private, charter, and public school systems at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in California, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C. and now in this great district. When I joined the WCSD family, I began at Procter R. Hug High School as an English teacher and instructional coach, and then became a Dean and Assistant Principal. I joined the North Valleys High School learning community as an assistant principal before serving as the proud principal at O’Brien Middle School. I have had the honor of being a novice principal and assistant principal mentor, coaching and supporting colleagues across our district. It is these relationships and experiences that have ignited my own learning and pallet to know leaders and schools well enough to idea share, brainstorm, and innovate in ways that create synergy, growth, and interdependence.
My objective as Associate Chief is to ignite and sustain student growth and achievement, to build capacity through equity-driven instructional leadership, and to provide strategic and differentiated support to our leadership and school communities.
