• The Absenteeism Dashboard: To access this tool log into BIG and click on "Absenteeism Dashboard" in the Reports Catalog

      • At its most basic level this dashboard will show you percentages of students at your school who fall into each category (severely chronic, chronic, approaching chronic, and satisfactory) for attendance (see below for examples.)  This data is also shown disaggregated into student population and by grade level
      • The percentages for each category can be clicked on to generate a report showing specific students represented by each category
        • Questions to ask when reviewing this data:
          • Are there specific populations or grade levels over-represented?
          • If so, what could be some root causes?
      • Are there procedures or interventions that could be put in place to address the root causes for these over-representations? (See the interventions section of the toolkit)A table showing chronic absenteeism data disaggregated by grade and population  Two graphs showing chronic absenteeism data over the past 4 years and sorted for this year by level of chronic absenteeism
    • By clicking on any of the percentages you will generate a student level report for all the students that fall into that category.  For example clicking on the percentage for severely chronically absent in the pyramid shaped chart will list all students at your school who are currently identified as severely chronically absent
      • This report will show the following information
        • Demographic information
        • Total absence count
        • Enrolled days
        • Present days
        • Any special programs that might apply to the student
      • Use this report to identify students who are severely chronic, chronically absent, or approaching chronic absence and are potentially in need of intervention
        • It is recommended that MTSS teams and site administrators review this report at least monthly
