Funds raised are directed towards our Student Wellness programs and providing our wellness coordinators with resources to implement successful wellness programs. Registration is now open on their website, for participants and volunteers. The event takes place every year in October - be sure to mark it on your calendar and share with your whole school community!
This engaging after-school program for girls is offered through numerous elementary and middle schools throughout the district for the Fall season. It centers on empowering girls to build physical, mental, emotional, and interpersonal well-being. The 10-week curriculum culminates with a community-organized 5K event in which volunteers and families can get involved. The run takes place in November each year. Schools looking to host a Girls on the Run program may reach out to begin in Spring.
The Wolfpack Coaches Challenge, organized and administered by the Washoe County Health District, provides tools and opportunities to teachers and school administration to implement nutrition education and promote physical activity. This event occurs in Fall each year, but materials remain available online, and registration will soon open again for the next session. Teachers who are interested in participating in may reach out early to get more information.
