Anne Marie teaches CLS at Hug High School.  She has many outstanding facets to her classroom instruction. She utilizes classroom iPads (obtained through a grant, some site funds and some from AT) with her Unique curriculum, ensuring access to the curriculum for all her students regardless of reading or writing level.  Her students are using the iPads to do research using the text to speech feature.  They complete worksheets and job applications using SnapType Pro – an app that allows them to take a picture of a document and type or utilize speech to text to complete it.

Anne Marie’s Communication Lunch Club is extraordinary (see pictures).  She utilizes peer tutors as role models and any adult support she can round up to help facilitate communication opportunities for her students that are using an app on an iPad for communication. The casual lunch setting gives these students an opportunity to use their commenting and social language skills.  The peers help model what typical lunch conversation would be. Both her students and the peer tutors all benefit from this fun opportunity to practice!!
