Nutrition Services administers child nutrition programs in more than 100 sites throughout Washoe County and the Washoe County School District. The Sparks-based nutrition services center features a central production kitchen and food distribution warehouse. This facility provides breakfast and/or lunch to all school cafeterias, as well as some area charter schools.

The Washoe County School District partners with Aramark Student Nutrition, the leading provider of food and nutrition programs, to manage the District’s food services. This partnership provides a quality, healthy, nutrition-based food service program to the district’s more than 64,000 students, while they benefit from Aramark's proprietary, award-winning dining concepts and nutrition awareness programs. Many district cafeterias and dining environments have been transformed with freshly-painted walls, new service areas and equipment, and student-friendly nutrition information. These research-based concepts and brands are designed to reflect the habits, choices and nutritional requirements of today’s elementary students, tweens and teens.
