About Nutrition Services
Nutrition Services administers child nutrition programs in 97 sites throughout Washoe County School District. The sparks-based Nutrition Services Center features a central production kitchen and food distribution warehouse. This facility provides breakfast and/or lunch in all school cafeterias including some charter schools.
The Washoe County School District partners with ARAMARK Education, the leading provider of food and nutrition programs, to manage the District’s food services. This partnership provides a quality, healthy, nutrition-based food service program to the district’s more than 64,000 students. Many district cafes have been transformed to new dining environments with freshly-painted walls, new service areas and equipment, and student-friendly nutrition information. The students of Washoe County benefit from ARAMARK’s proprietary, award-winning dining concepts and nutrition awareness programs including Cool*Caf™, The Tines™ and U.B.U. Lounge/High School stations. These concepts are research-based, proprietary brands that are designed to reflect the habits, choices and nutritional requirements of today’s elementary students, tweens and teens.
WCSD Nutrition Services understands that good nutrition is essential for sound academic performance and that it impacts the health and success of our children. We look forward to working together with schools, parents, and our community to provide the best experience for our students.
