Public Comment - Board Policy
Under the direction of the Board of Trustees, Board policies are reviewed periodically to ensure they align with the goals and initiatives of the Washoe County School District; and to ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations. Proposed documents for revision, adoption or deletion are posted below for review and comment by the public. Board Policy 9065, Board of Trustees' Compensation and Expenses, was formerly entitled "Travel and Other Expenses." It has been expanded to include reference to state law regarding compensation of Trustees. Additionally, language has been revised to add procedures related to the budget accounts of Trustees who are running for office and/or leaving office in the middle of a school year. This serves to ensure monies remain for an incoming Trustee following an election. Language was also added related to an outgoing Trustee returning any equipment or supplies of value to the District.
