Absences
Please help us maintain accurate attendance records for your child. This is our process for recording absences, absence reasons and provide make-up work upon return to school.

Arrival & Dismissal
Campus opens for student arrival at 7:10am and we ask that students make their way home (or to their afterschool desitnation) by exiting campus within the first ten minutes of the final bell. During arrival and dismissal, student drop-off and pick-up is available on the two side streets adjacent to the school. The lower parking lot is available for student drop-off, pick-up and visitor parking during all other times.

Technology Policy
Our technology policy is written to provide guidance that encourages active participation in the classroom. We ask that distractions like cell phones, smart watches and other portable electronic devices be stowed during class time. Click the link to read more information. Wellness Policy
The Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 directed the USDA to establish science-based nutrition standards for all foods and beverages sold to students in school during the school day.

Uniforms
This page details our site-based uniform policy, re-authorized in 2023. Included are links to the WCSD Dress Code Policy. our Site-based uniform policy is adopted in addition to the WCSD Dress Code Policy. Both policies are considered when ensuring a safe and consistent educational environment.

Activities: Student
The Board of Trustees (Board) recognizes the importance of student participation in intra-and extra-curricular activities as an integral component of a student’s complete educational development in the Washoe County School District (District). Student participation in such activities encourages positive academic, social, and emotional
growth as well as physical fitness, wellness, and achievement. -
Athletics: District Recognized
The Board of Trustees (Board) recognizes the importance of student participation in intra- and extra-curricular activities including District-recognized athletics as an important part of the total school experience of students in the Washoe County School District (District). In order to encourage student participation in athletics, the Board adopts this Board Policy to recognize athletics not sanctioned by the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) but recognized by the District.

Attendance: Student
This Board of Trustees (Board) Board Policy is designed to keep students in school, provide them access to the curriculum, and describe the guidelines set forth regarding student attendance in the Washoe County School District (District). Regular class attendance by students contributes to the educational process and is necessary to satisfactorily complete the requirements of any class or subject offered.

The Superintendent has adopted this Administrative Regulation to set forth the procedures for the prompt and equitable response to non-criminal complaints1 and concerns from students, parent(s)/guardian(s), or others regarding allegations of bullying against a student by another student in the Washoe County School District (District).

This Administrative Regulation establishes the guidelines and procedures related to the responsible use of technology and digital media within the Washoe County School District (“District” or “WCSD”).

Medications at School
Parents/guardians should make every effort to avoid the necessity of medicating students during the school day and, whenever possible, parents/guardians should develop medication schedules that provide for the administration of medication before or after school hours.

Personal Electronic Device: Use by Students
This administrative procedure describes the process in which the Washoe County School handles the prohibited use of personal electronic devices by students. Such devices include, but are not limited to: smart phones, cell phones, personal digital assistants (PDA), and tablets.

This administrative procedure shall describe and define protocols related to plagiarism and cheating.

Safe and Respectful Learning Environment
Through this Board Policy, the Board of Trustees (Board) seeks to create a safe and respectful learning environment free from race discrimination, bullying, and cyberbullying in order for students to achieve success. This Board Policy establishes the procedures necessary to create a safe and respectful learning environment, to promptly investigate accusations of bullying, to implement remedies and interventions for all who are involved, and to provide training to employees and students on the prevention and remediation of such behaviors.

Service Animals
The Superintendent adopts this administrative regulation to establish the guidelines related to the use of service animals on the properties of and at the activities of the Washoe County School District (“District”).

Student Records and Information
The Board of Trustees (Board) encourages students, parents/guardians, and faculty and employees to be fully informed about their rights and responsibilities related to student records. In order to provide students with appropriate instruction and education services, it is necessary to maintain extensive and sometimes personal information about students and their families. The Washoe County School District (District) shall employ safeguards related to access, maintenance, and confidentiality of student information and records.

Students: Release during School Hours
Please plan ahead when picking-up a student from school. Release may be delayed if requested during lunch times or within the last fifteen (15) minutes of the school day.

Cell Phone (Technology) Policy
Students may have cell phones, smart watches, tablets and other electronic devices on campus. Our policy is intended to limit the possibility of personal electronic devices interfering with classroom instruction and student learning. This document helps to outline how we deal with technology on campus.

Uniform Informational Flyer
Our uniform policy promotes a safe, respectful, and healthy school environment that is focused on learning. The first step to your success in the classroom is to show your ready-to-learn attitude by choosing to make clothing choices that support your learning and the learning of others. This flyer helps clarify our expectations here at school. These are our minimum expectations. You can always wear more, please don’t show up wearing less.
