Junior Service-Learning Project Proposal
In this project proposal, you will create a written document showing that the project your group created meets the requirements of the AACT JSL project. This type of writing is called an INTERNAL PROPOSAL. Your proposal should be typed, single-spaced, and one page in length. It should contain the following sections.
Project Title and Group Names:
Please give your project a professional title and include the full name of each group member.
Abstract:
This is a brief 5-10 sentence paragraph that identifies the community need that your project will address and describes how you intend to address it.
Why: How did you choose this project?
3-5 sentences about why this project resonates with your group. This is your chance to engage your reader with your passion.
Community Partners:
3-5 sentences identifying and describing your partners. The JSL project is designed to connect students with the community. What organizations or individuals in the community will you be working with to ensure your project is relevant and meets a community need? Examples could include the Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful organization, The Key Club, or the Reno Bike Project.
Project Value/Portfolio Development:
This is the heart of your proposal. Write a paragraph that shows how the community will benefit from your project and just as importantly, how it will benefit you. What real service are you doing for your community? What skills, experiences, certifications, or relationships does this project provide for you?
Time Requirements:
How will you meet the 20-hour requirements of this project?
Action Plan:
What are the first three steps that you need to take in order to initiate or continue this project?
Feel free to use this document to format your proposal.
