Information for Distance Learning Students and Families
If you opted for full distance learning for the Fall 2020 semester at Sparks HS, please read this information carefully. Your classes will be delivered via the WCSD approved online platform: Edgenuity. This is a self-paced online program that you will complete on your own from home*. However, a distance learning teacher will be assigned to you to monitor your progress and attendance on Edgenuity. This teacher will be your contact person for any Edgenuity-related questions, and they will contact you via the Edgenuity messaging system to introduce themselves to you. Distance Learning students are expected to log-in everyday and work on each of their classes. Working in every class in Edgenuity will count as your attendance for the day. You can access Edgenuity anywhere you have access to the Internet, including smart phones and tablets. Chrome is the recommended browser for the program although you can access it via other browsers as well. Click on the link below for information on how to access and log-in to Edgenuity. Students can already log-in to Edgenuity, but their classes will not be loaded until Monday, August 17th.
Student Log-in Page: https://auth.edgenuity.com/login/saml/student/washoeschools
Password Use the same password required to log into the school computers.
Student Hints:
Make sure you are using .org in your username
Use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox as your web browser.
If you have a pc/mac or mobile device that is not connected to the district's network you will be asked for your username (Example Student: 1234567@washoeschools.org) and password once more.

*If your student selected Military Science (ROTC), Manufacturing Tech, or AVID as one of their classes, the corresponding teacher for those classes will reach out to your student to let them know how they will be completing work from home for those classes.
Information for Group A or Group B Students and Families (Hybrid Learning)
Students that opted for the Hybrid Learning model will be broken up into A days and B days. “Group A” students will be in person beginning at 8:00 AM on Monday, August 17th and “Group B” students will be in person beginning at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, August 18th. The school district sent out a Connect Ed phone call this past Monday stating which group your student(s) will be attending; Sparks HS will send another Connect Ed call this weekend to remind you again of what group your student belongs to.
It’s important to note that students in the Hybrid Learning model will attend school every other day but not the same days every week. Please make sure to look at the calendars below to see Group A and Group B calendars for the school year, which will allow you to have an accurate idea of when your students will come to school.
