Students, if you did not meet the 90% attendance requirement for your Fall Semester classes, you have until TODAY at 3:00 pm to submit a Late Attendance Appeal Application.  You may pick up an appeal from your Attendance Secretary in the Main Office.  You cannot earn credit if you didn’t meet the 90% attendance requirement even if you passed the class, so get your appeal in.

 

Seniors ~ If you are enrolled in ENG 101 or ENG 102 at SSHS classes begin on Monday, January 27th and Tuesday, January 28th. If you have further questions please check your schedule.

 

Students who received an INC for any course for the Fall semester have 6 weeks to make up their missing final in order to earn a grade. Please make arrangements with your teacher to take your missing finals. All finals must be made up no later than Friday February 14, 2020.

 

Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen

Course selection is happening right now and will continue on until spring break.  If you do not have access to Infinite Campus please come to the counseling office, or the college career center ASAP.  In order to pick your classes for next year you'll need your own user name and password.  You may not use your parent's account.

 

If you are interested in earning the Seal of Biliteracy, The AAPPL exam will be given on the same day as the ACT, February 25th.  Please pay $20.00 to the bookkeeper in order to register for this exam.  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Blakely or Mrs. Bartoo in M3/M4.

Spring Sport – Baseball, Boys Golf, Softball, Swim/Dive, Track & Lacrosse

  • Register by going to RegisterMyAthlete.com
  • Turn into the athletic department:
    • Physical if required this year (every 2 years) (or upload on RMA)
    • Health History Form (or upload on RMA)
    • Travel Waiver Form (or upload on RMA)
    • $90.00 fee is due after tryouts and the student makes the team.

 

DEADLINE, Friday, February 14th, 2020 ( STERETT 1/6/2020)

 

Students, the clinic cannot give medication unless approved by a doctor. With permission of parent or guardian you may bring, cough drops, Advil, etc in it’s original container with dosages for the day. Remember what you bring is for YOUR use only. (Reinders/Bergstrom)

 

Students if you are sick or feeling ill you MUST go to the clinic to be seen and checked out. The office will no longer send a pass for you to leave class due to illness from a parent that you have called. 

 

Are you up to date with your Promise Scholarship due dates? The TMCC Accuplacer Exam is on February 6th. You must sign up in the Career Center!

 

The Spanish Springs Senior Only Scholarship is due Feb 7th. This scholarship is open to all SSHS Seniors! Application is located in the College and Career Center website. Questions? See Ms. Cabrera.

 

 Interested in Career and Technical Education options? Join TMCC’s Open House February 19th from 6:30-8:30pm in the William Pennington Technology Center. This event will have live demonstrations of various programs such as automotive, diesel, welding, machining, robotics & more. Visit the Career Center for more information.

 

Juniors – Spanish Springs will be offering an ACT Junior Boot Camp on February 21 – 23 to prepare for the ACT exam that will be given on Tuesday, February 25.  Test prep can help prepare you increase your ACT scores.  The cost for the first 100 juniors is $75.  Sign up through the bookkeeper or on the Webstore, payment is to at the time of sign-ups.  For more information, see your Junior English teacher, counselor or Ms. Marin.
