Pine Middle School

    My name is Michelle Roney, and I am thrilled to join Pine Middle School as the School Social Worker for the 2024-2025 school year.

    I am a first-generation college graduate, having earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada in 2015. I went on to earn my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Nevada, School of Social Work in 2019.

    I have been working in Title I schools in Washoe County schools since 2017, where I focus on engaging students, families, and staff to remove or mediate barriers to academic and social success. I employ a human-centered and strengths-based approach, meeting each individual and family where they are, with deep respect for their unique culture, identity, and experience.

    I look forward to getting to know our students and families and contributing to a strong school community where every student feels seen, loved, and supported.
