Book an appointment with your counselor HERE **please understand that students will not be pulled out of core classes for appointments—students should schedule meetings before or after school, during lunch, or during electives with teacher's permission** Parents, unless in case of emergency, please refrain from dropping in without an appointment as we will prioritize those with appointments booked with us, and sometimes we are out of the office due to district and/or IHS meetings, trainings, classroom lessons and grad planning, etc.

    • FAFSA opened on 12/30/23. Remember that there is a very limited time to get FAFSA complete this year.
    • If you are attending UNR and are planning on using one of their scholarships – you must have FAFSA submitted prior to 2/1/24

**Students – you need to check each college that you have placed an application with to se see what their deadlines are for FAFSA. The first step for both the senior and their parent/guardian is to create a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID. The FSA ID is an electronic signature, one for the student and different one for the parent (or shared by both parents). This is one-to-three day time frame for processing the FSA ID, which is required to complete the FAFSA. We are encouraging students / parents to complete these step 3 days prior to meeting with counselors or coming to the FAFSA Workshop.

Tips: When completing any postsecondary planning such as FAFSA, students should use a personal, not school-related, email address.

Collect your personal information and tax forms to make completing the FAFSA easier:
