Freeman Holbrook began his educational career in Washoe County School District in 2008 as a football coach and teacher. Mr. Holbrook spent six years teaching and coaching within the district before accepting the dean of student’s role for 2 years.  He then transitioned to administration where he has been an assistant principal for the past 6 years.  He has had the privilege to lead every component of a high school while working at Galena, Damonte Ranch, and Wooster.

Prior to working in education Mr. Holbrook worked as a police officer in Washoe County, a financial agent, and coach.  Through his educational experiences as a member of the state board of education, WSPA president, teacher, coach, and administrator he has had the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of people and understands the education system at a state, district, and site level.

His educational leadership philosophy focuses on encouraging, supporting, and educating all students, staff, and families with a defined set of goals determined through collaboration.  He believes in guiding through positive leadership and supporting data driven, inclusive best practices for ALL students. He will foster healthy relationships while listening and responding to ALL stakeholders.

  • Lancer's Excel!

This year, we will continue our school-wide support program, Lancers Excel. Lancer’s Excel is an intervention program that is designed to be flexible, providing students extra help when they need it. For the first two weeks of school, all students have been placed into an Intervention class called “Excel Home Base.” You'll see it on your schedule as "Closed Intervention." We will use this time to prepare students for this school year. Starting August 30, students will be able to get additional help from teachers when they are struggling with particular concepts and skills, access help on homework or assignments in a targeted study hall (e.g. “Math Homework Help”) or just have a quiet place to get their assignments done. They can also use this time to make up tests or quizzes they may have missed due to absence, eliminating the need for students to do this before school, after school, or during lunch. The program is designed to give all students what they need, when they need it.
