I’m Mrs. Dickson, your social studies teacher for the next year. I wanted you to get to know me a little better. I have a husband who is a detective with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Department. We have been married for 14 years and have two kids, an 8-year old daughter named Anabel and a 6-year-old son named Oliver. I am really close with my parents, sister, brother and their families. I am the oldest, which means I am the wisest.

 I was born and raised in Sparks, Nevada. I went to Elementary school at Diedrichsen, Sparks Middle for 7th & 8th  grade, and Reed High School. After high school, I went to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and then got my master’s degree through Walden University. This is my 18th year teaching. I taught at Mendive Middle School the first 16 years of my career. I have a lot of great memories at that school, but decided it was time for a change and time to take a risk. Now this is my 2nd year at Sky Ranch Middle School. I mostly look forward to building relationships with my students.

  I have a few things that I am passionate about. I love sports, both playing and watching. Golfing is my favorite, as well as baseball, basketball, tennis, and soccer. I will always root for the San Francisco Giants, Nevada Wolf Pack, Serena Williams, and USA Soccer (women's and men’s teams). Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler are my favorite golfers; remind me to tell you a story about Tiger Woods sometime. I also enjoy camping, wakeboarding, as well as traveling. I love to dance and two years ago I was fortunate enough to cross off an item on my bucket list- I got to see the musical, Hamilton and it was spectacular. I look forward to the next year with you.
