Nevada Womens Fund-Due 1/6/2025

• Applicants must be attending post-secondary university, college, or trade-school in northern Nevada or at an accredited online program. If attending a school outside of northern Nevada, the field of study must not be offered at any school in northern Nevada.

Reno Rodeo Foundation-Opens 2/8/2025

• Applicants who are undocumented will be deemed ineligible.
• Applicants must have graduated from a Northern Nevada high school and must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 at the time of application to be considered. Note: the following counties shall not be considered Northern Nevada: Clark County, Esmeralda County, and Lincoln County.
• The Scholarship award will be administered by the educational institution on behalf of the recipient to fund tuition or other educational-related expenses.
• The recipient must enroll as a full-time student and maintain a 3.0 college GPA or equivalent based on the educational institution’s grading system. If a recipient cannot meet the requirements during any school year of the award, the award will be forfeited, and the funds will be returned to the Reno Rodeo Foundation.
• Students must declare a major at an accredited Nevada System of Higher Education Nevada College or University or at an out-of-state accredited College or University if the declared major is not offered in Nevada ;
• Students must be accepted into a Career College, University, or Vocational School licensed by the State of Nevada Commission on Postsecondary Education in good standing with accreditation status as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

USTA Foundation Scholarship- Opens 2/5/2025

The USTA also offers an annual scholarship and we encourage those interested and eligible to apply The USTA Foundation awards scholarships to high school seniors who:

• Demonstrate academic achievement (3.0 minimum GPA)
• Perform community/volunteer service
• The USTA Foundation strategic goals includes providing scholarships to support tennis and youth development, with priority given to students who participated in enrolled National Junior Tennis and Learning organizations (“NJTL Chapters”).

The GIAR Grandmothers Scholarship is designed for students who:

• are residents of northern Nevada (typically described as Tonopah and north) or the state of Hawaii

Steingard Family Scholarsip-DUE 3/15/2025

Established in 2019 the Steingard Family Scholarship will award up to $2,500. Awards have the potential to be renewed with reapplication for up to three additional years.

Eligible applicants are graduating high school seniors from Northern Nevada who will be first-generation college students. Applicants must be Nevada residents seeking a certificate, 2-year or 4-year degree at the University of Nevada, Reno, or Truckee Meadows Community College who wish to pursue a business or education degree.

Eligible applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative unweighted GPA and a minimum SAT score of 1100
and/or a minimum ACT score of 20.

The Ron & Linda Smith Family Scholarship-DUE 4/30/2025

The Ron & Linda Smith Family Scholarship is offered to Northern Nevada residents attending Truckee Meadows Community College, Western Nevada College, or Great Basin College, who are pursuing a degree or certificate program, or who are enrolled in a vocational program at a qualifying vocational school. This is a one-time award of up to $1,000, with the potential to be renewed with reapplication.

The Smith Family Scholarship is designed for a student who:

• is a U.S. Citizen
• is a graduating high school senior or non-traditional student
• has a high school diploma or equivalency
• has a minimum 3.2 unweighted cumulative GPA
• is a resident of Northern Nevada
• is pursuing a degree or certificate from TMCC, WNC, or GBC; or is enrolled in a vocational program
• agrees to maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average and provide a copy of unofficial transcripts at the end of each semester they are receiving a scholarship

Sons of American Revolution-Closed

The Battle Born Patriots Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, will award in 2024 two Liberty Grants in the amount of $1,500 each. Mensa US Scholarship- DUE 1/15/2025

There are two requirements for applicants:

• Applicants must be enrolled in a degree program in an accredited U.S. institution of higher learning during the academic year following the application date.
• Applicants must submit an application and essay explaining his or her career, academic and/or vocational goals.

Defining the Disability Scholarship-CLOSED

The Defining the Disability Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship available to students who meet the scholarship eligibility requirements below, and who can best describe in a 750-1,000 word essay: how can we define disability in the modern world versus its medical definition? While defining what disability means to you, explain how disability has been part of your life, whether it’s affected someone you know or has had a personal effect. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is October 31, 2024.

Eligibility

• The scholarship is open to any current high school senior, vocational student, college student or graduate student who is a legal resident of the United States residing in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia and who is enrolled in a vocational program or two to four year post-secondary institution for the Spring 2025 semester.

Hagan Foundation Scholarship-CLOSED

Eligibility Requirements
* Must attend a public, private, charter, magnet, or STEM high school located in the United States.
* Must be fluent in the English language.
* Must be in the high school graduating class.
* Must have achieved a 3.50 Cumulative Grade Point Average.
* Must enroll in an eligible four-year or higher not-for-profit College or University the first fall semester following high school graduation. The Hagan Scholarship cannot be used to attend a community college or online institution.
* Must maintain a four year or less graduation schedule in college, or complete the equivalent of a four year degree if in a professional program.
*Must work 240 hours from January 1, 2025 until commencement of the 2025 fall semester in college. Employment must be regularly scheduled work performed under supervision for compensation. Work can be full-time or part-time, or a combination of the two.
* Applicant’s Adjusted Gross Household Income reported for 2023 Federal Income Tax Purposes must not have exceeded $100,000. “Household Income” is defined as the total income received by all members of a household living under the same roof.
* Applicants selected as Finalists must provide the first two pages of their FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS) showing their Student Aid Index (SAI).
* Must apply for Federal and State grants if eligible.
