Free Breakfast in the Classrooms and Lunch
All students at Dilworth receive a free breakfast and lunch at no charge. We know that nutritious meals improve the ability to concentrate, increase test scores, grades, general health, and school performance! Whether your children are just starting kindergarten or entering the final year of high school, there are many reasons for you to volunteer at school. It's always a great way to show your kids that you take an interest in their education, and it sends a positive message that education is important. At Dilworth, our families and community members are a huge resource and support system. By interacting with our teachers, administrators, and other parents on a regular basis, you will gain firsthand experience of your scholars' daily lives. You will also find yourself tapping into trends and fads of school that can help you communicate with your children as they grow and change. Even if you haven't been involved in the past, it's never too late; in fact, it may be more important than ever to get involved in middle school.
Please feel free to complete a volunteer application and bring it to school with a copy of your identification. As of the 2018-2019 school year, the WCSD will be asking all volunteers to have their fingerprints taken. The cost of the prints are $50.00 and will be good for 5 years. Please contact Dilworth STEM Academy or volunteer Services (348-0346) for further information.Adult Volunteer Application (English)Adult Volunteer Application (Spanish)
Step-Parent Release Information
Any person who is not the legal guardian, including step-parents and domestic partners, must have a note from a natural parent stating the name of the person(s) who will be allowed to pick up a student in a non-emergency situation, such as an appointment. All emergency contacts will be allowed to pick up a student in case of a school initiated emergency. This note will be kept on file for the entire school year and the student will be released to that person during the school year without subsequent documentation. After the school year has ended, the natural parent will need to write a new note for the new school year.
To provide access, please read the following notices and bring in the permission slip at the bottom of the letters. If you have any questions, please call Dilworth at 353-5740.
