In my self-contained classroom, I create a structured and supportive space where students can build skills that support independence—like communication, emotional regulation, daily living, and executive functioning. I use visual supports, routines, and individualized instruction to help students meet their IEP goals.

I collaborate closely with our speech therapist, occupational therapist, and general education staff to ensure students are meaningfully included across campus. I also work with general education students to promote a positive, inclusive learning environment. This includes co-planning classroom activities, supporting peer interactions, and creating opportunities for shared learning. I believe that all students benefit when we build understanding. 

I take students on regular community outings to practice life skills in real-world settings. I also run our Falcon Fuel snack store, where students learn vocational skills like customer service, money handling, and teamwork. My goal is to create a classroom that’s calm and respectful, so students feel proud and supported.
