Window 1: December 1^st, 2023 – December 31^st, 2023

School of Choice is a system where Washoe County School District (WCSD) families can choose which school they want their children to attend.  This process was formerly known as the variance process.  WCSD has streamlined this process for our families, making it more accessible.  The District will offer two windows when families can apply to a school other than their student’s zoned school.  The first window is December 1^st, 2023 through December 31^st, 2023.  There will be an additional window in the spring of 2024.  We believe students will be the most successful in the school where they feel connected and seen and with an academic program that best suits their needs.  The School of Choice application is available through Online Registration.  Online Registration must be completed in order to be considered for a School of Choice placement.
