Hello Scorpion families, our Desert Skies Booster club is a recognized group of families and school staff that work together for the benefit of our school. Taking an active role in our school is critical to our students success, not only in school but in our community.

Consider this….

It’s important to the school. Schools are becoming more and more dependent on parent groups. Parent groups PTA, PFO PTO’s and Booster Clubs are responsible for most of the schools fundraising revenue. They provide support to teachers, students and admin, as well as create a caring, supportive atmosphere in the school.

It’s good for our kids! Research has repeatedly proven that students whose parents are involved in their school make better grades and have fewer disciplinary issues.

GET Connected! There is no better way to know what’s going on in school than to be part of your Booster. You will be first to hear about important decisions and changes. You will get to know teachers and administrators on a familiar basis.

You’ll be part of a network. Every parent group's function is an opportunity to meet other parents in the same or similar situation. Share common goals of improving or supporting the school.

You’ll make a difference. The Desert Skies Booster Club will work to establish a supportive and encouraging community for the entire school.

It will be fun! You will help plan events, socials and get togethers that all of our families can attend.

Be a Role model! You will show your students that not only are they important to you, but their education is as well. They’ll see you making education better for them and their peers.

Your child will feel a sense of pride.  Being part of the Desert Skies Boosters will, in most cases, make your kids proud of you. They may not admit it (they may even grumble), but they will feel proud that their parents are involved in improving their school's well-being.

Involvement is flexible. There are a variety of ways families can be involved. The Boosters are for every family! Your voice and opinion matter! It makes a difference. Your ideas can help improve the quality of education for your scholars and their peers.

When our community thinks of Desert Skies, we want them to know that our scorpions are supported by every family and community member. Our goal is to set the bar high on parent and community engagement. Being an involved parent can be as simple as helping your child with homework or even reading together. The more time you take out of your day to become involved in your students' education the better. You don’t have to make joining the Boosters a full-time job to make a difference. However, volunteering occasionally, attending school events really matter. Showing you value education teaches your student to value education.

The Desert Skies ~ Booster Club

Membership dues are once a year & allow for families to vote on important issues. Membership dues also helps support family events, student PBIS store, A-honor roll lunch, teacher appreciation, and other school wide incentives. Membership is $10 per family or $3 per individual. Please drop by the DSMS office and join the Boosters now or consider being an active member.
