Washoe County School Districts has some amazing programs that support displaced or families that are in homelss or in transition. Remember that being homeless does not always mean being without a home, sometimes it can mean just being doubled up with another family, or living in a motel.

Goal setting is important at any age, but it’s especially crucial during the middle school years. This is a time when students are exploring their interests and talents and laying the foundation for their future success.
Unfortunately, many students don’t know how to set effective goals. They may set goals that are too vague or too ambitious, which can lead to frustration and disappointment.
The good news is that goal setting is a skill that can be learned. By teaching your child how to set SMART goals, you can help them make the most of their middle school years and set them up for success in the future. The following link is a short video from the DSMS counseling team
