What Is the Millennium Scholarship?
The Governor Guinn Millennium Scholarship is a scholarship that provides free or reduced tuition to eligible Nevada students. The award, which maxes out at $10,000, is paid on a per-credit hour basis. It’s good for up to 15 credits per semester.
Who is Eligible for the Millennium Scholarship?
Students must meet certain criteria to receive the Millennium Scholarship. Recipients of the scholarship need to have lived in Nevada for at least two of their high school years.
The Millennium Scholarship also requires students to meet certain academic standards. In terms of high school coursework, aspiring recipients should complete the following with a 3.25 or higher GPA for all the high school coursework or receive 1070 on the SAT or a 21 on the ACT.
- 4 units of English
- 4 units of math, including Algebra II
- 3 units of science
- 3 units of social studies/history
