• Reno Zazpiak Bat Basque Club Scholarship 2024

    The Reno Zazpiak Bat Basque Club is offering up to $1000 in scholarships for any high school graduating senior(s) planning to attend a technical school, community college, or four-year university.

    Complete the attached application and return it with a completed essay from one of the topics listed below or a topic that pertains to the Basque culture.

    Also please attach a resume detailing your goals, hobbies/activities, awards and achievements, and a copy of a transcript.

    Applications must be received by June 7, 2024

    Application Requirements

    1. Applicant(s) must be a senior in high school planning to graduate in the spring of 2024.
    2. 2. Applicant(s) must be planning to enroll in a technical school, community college, or four year university. 
    3. 3. Students applying for scholarships must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be in good standing. A copy of your transcript must accompany this application.
    4. 4. All applicants must complete a typed 500-to-1000-word essay on a topic about the Basque culture. (See topic examples below).

    Essay Topic Examples

    1.  Basque Culture in America
    2.  Basque Sport such as rural sports such as weightlifting/woodchopping, or history/importance of Athletic Bilbao.
    3.  Basque Dancing and its origin. How has it evolved overtime in the Basque country and/or in the United States?
    4.  A taste of the Basque Country. Importance/Impact of Basque cuisine.
    5.  Write about a Basque related topic of your choice.
