IMPORTANT INFORMATION
FINES/BOOKS: All fees and fines must be paid by May 28th; all books must be turned in by the completion of finals in order to pick up tickets and parking passes.
TICKET INFORMATION: Each graduate will receive ten (10) guest tickets and three (3) parking passes.
IMPORTANT REMINDER ABOUT GRADUATION TICKETS: Graduation is a meaningful milestone and a special time for our students, families, and school communities. To ensure a fair and positive experience for everyone, we want to remind all students and families that graduation tickets are not to be sold or posted online for resale. The sale of graduation tickets — whether in person or through online platforms or social media — is strictly discouraged. Each ticket is provided for the purpose of allowing loved ones to attend and celebrate this important event, not for personal profit. If you have questions regarding tickets, please contact the school directly.
GRADUATION CEREMONY INFORMATION
PARKING: Parking is free in the Lawlor parking garages during the event with your parking pass. Handicapped drop off is available at the front of Lawlor Events Center. Parking passes must be presented to enter the West Stadium garage. All graduates will receive three (3) parking passes.
STUDENT ATTIRE: This is a formal event. Flat bottom shoes are highly recommended. Cap and gown colors are standard for all students. No clothing items that could be a potential disruption to the graduation ceremony by being lewd, obscene, dangerous, destructive will be allowed. The district recognizes all cultures and ethnic groups as being important to our society and is committed to creating and fostering an educational environment that respects the cultural diversity of the various communities within the District. The District does not seek to restrict or ban a student’s wearing of recognized religious clothing, with the exception of unprotected speech. Such items may be worn on the student’s person but shall not interfere with or be a substantial disruption to the graduation ceremony.
CAPS: Graduating seniors from WCSD will be able to decorate their mortarboards for their graduation ceremonies. This is an opportunity to express your pride, joy and gratitude in a way that is unique to you. Of course, these decorations must also be appropriate and cannot be lewd, obscene, vulgar, profane, contain hate speech, promote violence, promote the use of illicit drugs, or create a substantial disruption with the graduation ceremony or any other form of unprotected speech.
CEREMONY INFO FOR GRADUATES: Graduates must arrive at 12:00 pm and enter through the tunnel and meet in the Silver and Blue Rooms. Outside food or beverage (including water) is not allowed. Water will be available in the Silver and Blue Rooms.
AUDIENCE ENTRANCE: Doors will open promptly at 12:00 pm for guests, guests will not be allowed in earlier. Families and invited guests enter via the upper concourse at Doors 22 and 36.
NEVADA WOLFPACK VENUE BAG POLICY:
The University of Nevada, Reno has a policy limiting the size and type of bag allowed for all events in an effort to provide a safer environment for the public and expedite entry into athletic venues. For more information: https://www.unr.edu/lawlor/visit/bag-policy
EXPECTATIONS OF BEHAVIOR: Appropriate behavior is expected by both students and guests. Air horns are not allowed. Confetti, balloons, and balloon bouquets are not permitted inside the arena. Any of these items may result in the removal of the individual causing the disruption.
SEATING: As a courtesy to all, each graduate’s family may save no more than ten (10) seats upon arrival at Lawlor Events Center. Seats may be saved until the start of the ceremony. At that time, any open seats may no longer be saved and are open to all. It is recommended that family and family friends arrive all at the same time in order to be able to sit together during the ceremony. Accessible seating is available for our guests with wheelchairs and one other guest only. Due to the limited space, we are unable to seat entire families in the wheelchair seating section.
GRADUATION PICTURES: Photos will be taken in the Silver & Blue room prior to ceremony. Bell Photo is the designated photographer for 2025 WCSD commencement ceremonies. Ordering information will be given at Graduation Practice.
DIPLOMAS: Diplomas will be issued to students after graduation in the Silver and Blue Room at Lawlor Events Center. Students receive only the diploma covers during the ceremony. Schools must have the ability to discipline students who are near the end of their academic career. Students slated to participate in the graduation ceremony shall be held to high standards of conduct and behavior until the conclusion of the academic year. Since some of the typical discipline measures that are approved for other students are not appropriate for these graduating students, such as suspension from school instruction, such students may be denied the right to participate in the graduation/commencement ceremony as an alternative disciplinary consequence. Such exclusion may be regarded as a school suspension in accordance with District policy and at the discretion of the principal and shall only be utilized for egregious behavior. The decision of the high school principal to deny participation in the graduation ceremony may be appealed to the Associate Chief of Secondary Education following the District’s complaint resolution processes.
MEETING UP WITH YOUR GRADUATE AFTER THE GRADUATION CEREMONY: Following the ceremony, the graduates will be escorted to meet their guests at the South Outer Upper Concourse for congratulations and pictures. Parents and relatives will not be permitted on the arena floor or on the first-floor level where the graduates will be sitting or later receiving their diplomas. We will encourage students to move along quickly so that you can meet up with them and congratulate them for all their hard work and accomplishments. Please make prior arrangements with your graduate as to where you will meet them after the graduation ceremony.

Senior Interviews
During the first two weeks of September, seniors will meet with their counselor to assess their progress to graduation and get a game plan for their final year. They will receive a folder containing important information about testing dates, college visits, scholarships, FAFSA workshops and student record requests. You will find a link to a copy of these documents on this page. Any questions you might have can be answered by your counselor.
