Lieutenant Colonel Clark

Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Bill Clark is a native of Wyoming and enlisted in the Wyoming Army National Guard in July 1990 as a Signal Soldier. He attended the University of Wyoming where he studied Physical Geography and received a commission as a 2LT through the ROTC program. He was branched Engineers and served on active duty from 1997 until his retirement in July 2021. Prior to joining the Hug High School JROTC program LTC Clark served as the Senior Regular Army Advisor to the Nevada Army National Guard from 2018 to 2021.

LTC Clark’s first duty station was Fort Bragg, NC where he served in the 82d Airborne Division as a combat engineer platoon leader and paratrooper from 1997-2000. After his time at Fort Bragg, LTC Clark was assigned to US Army Alaska at Fort Richardson, AK where he served as the Garrison HQ Company Commander. After successful completion of his first company command, LTC Clark was selected to serve as the company commander for a second time for C Company 864th Engineer Battalion at Fort Richardson, AK from 2003-2004. Following his company commands, LTC Clark was assigned to the Corps of Engineers where he worked as a Project Engineer in Alaska and deployed to Iraq where he was a Resident Office OIC in Baghdad for the Corps of Engineers in 2005.

Upon returning from Iraq in 2005, LTC Clark attended graduate school in Salt Lake City, UT. Upon completion of graduate school in 2007, LTC Clark was assigned to the US Military Academy at West Point, NY as a faculty member of the Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering until 2010.

LTC Clark was then assigned to the 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood, TX and deployed for a second time to Iraq in 2010-2011. After returning to the US, LTC Clark attended the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, KS from 2011-2012. Upon completion of CGSC he was assigned to the 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command in the Republic of Korea as the G3 Engineer until he returned to Fort Leavenworth, KS in March 2014.

LTC Clark then served as the Protection Warfighting Function Chief for Ops Group Alpha, Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) from 2014-2015. He was deployed for a third time to the Middle East where he served on the joint staff for Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve from 2015-2016. He then returned to MCTP at Fort Leavenworth where he served as the Chief of Operations for Ops Group Alpha from 2016-2018 until he joined First Army and moved to Nevada to be the Senior Regular Army Advisor to the Nevada Army National Guard.

LTC Clark has served more than 30 years of honorable service both in the Army National Guard and the Regular Army. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, four Meritorious Service Medals, two Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, Senior Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.

LTC Clark lives in Sparks, NV with his three children Erin, Garrett, and Willa, and his wife Rebecca.
