Things to Know:
Core Classes-Classes you are required to take--ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies
Electives - Classes you choose to take - PE, Art, STEM or 21st Century are offered for 6th graders
GPA-Grade Point Average (A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, D=1.0)
Passing Time-Time to get from class to class -5 minutes in between core classes and electives
PROPS-Points you get for following the FLIGHT plan (expected behaviors).
Self-advocacy-Asking questions and asking for help when needed.
Communication with Teachers- Students need to talk to them and not be afraid to ask for help when needed. Use technology to stay up on due dates and assignments.
Lockers-They will not be used this school year
One-to-One-Laptops will be assigned to each student. Take care of them and be responsible.
Does my student have homework? Yes, at least 30 minutes of Math practice per night and 30 minutes of ELA practice.
Is extra credit available at the end of the quarter to raise my grade? No, work must be completed and turned in on time. Prepare for assessments so they can be the most accurate reflection of measured skill.
