Drill Team
Team Commander: Gracie Sieben Team Co-Commander: Kayen Miller
Drill is a team-based event where cadets learn discipline as well as how to act and move as one unit. Specific categories the Mustang Battalion participates in consist of Unarmed Basic Drill and Armed Basic Drill. Drill Team also participates in inspections, as well as the newest addition, Exhibition Rifle Duels.
Color Guard
Team Commander: Trevor Lambert Team Co- Commander: Peyton Gradillas
Color Guard is a small and defined team as it carries our nation's colors with pride. Color Guard is the face of the battalion, so cadets must be the best at what they do and hold the highest standards for themselves and others. Color Guard participates in ceremonies within the battalion and out, such as football games, tailhook, etc.
Marksmanship
Team commander: Tristian Martinez Team Co-Commander: Genesis Diaz
Marksmanship requires patience, dedication, precision and accuracy. In order to compete on marksmanship, every member must complete and pass the rifle safety course and exam with an 100%. Every member must maintain their physical health and mental clarity. Each year Rifle team gets better, recently winning 2nd place overall in the most recent All-Navy Competition.
Raider/ Athletics
Team Commander: Ben Cox
Raider is an athletic team that pushes each cadet and builds strength in everyone that joins. This specific team pushes for team building and allows cadets opportunities to build their leadership skills through leadership positions.
Academics
Team Commander: Kayen Miller
The Academics Team participates in drill competitions as well as nationwide exams. Damonte Ranch Navy JROTC is valued for its academic success, holding its spot as the #1 in Northern Nevada region, winning 2nd place at All Navy, and ranking top 6% in the nation.
Drones
Team Commander: Alexander White
As a new STEM adaptation to the Mustang Battalion. Drones team blossomed and took home trophies each time they competed. With growing excitement for aerial learning, cadets hone their skills and build their minds for future careers.
Swords Team
Team commander: Peyton Gradillas
Swords team, a ceremonial team, is used for important events such as dining out, and Awards night. Swords Team requires professionalism and the ability to adhere to Navy traditions.
