Interested in employment in Emergency Medical Services?

We are thrilled to share an exciting opportunity for our students in Spring 2024—an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) class with all expenses covered.

We have a couple of options for interested schools.

EMS 113 - Emergency Medical Responder: We can host this class on your site for students who are interested in the medical field. Below, please find a description of the course.

The primary focus of the Emergency Medical Responder is to initiate immediate lifesaving care to critical patients who access the emergency medical system. This course was designed using the National EMS Education Standards to help students understand the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide lifesaving interventions while awaiting additional EMS response and to assist higher-level personnel at the scene and during transport. Emergency Medical Responders function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight. Emergency Medical Responders perform basic interventions with minimal equipment. Completion of the course will allow the student to be eligible for national and state certification as an EMR and provide a gateway to becoming an EMT.

We also offer a variety of sections of EMS 108, which is the Emergency Medical Technician Training.

If students have any questions or need further information about this opportunity, please feel free to contact us at the dual credit office 775-673-7122.  We are here to assist you and ensure a smooth enrollment process.
