DRHS Band Day
Band day is when students dress in full uniform (no shakos or head attire), team up and in groups of 4 go door-to-door in DRHS zoned neighborhoods to solicit donations for the band. This is 100% fully funded and organized by our Band Parent Organization, it is NOT a DRHS sanctioned event. It is usually held on a Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00ish p.m. or after a rehearsal.
Parent Volunteers are needed to drive the route while kids walk door-to-door in partners through neighborhoods. Each volunteer parent (chaperone) will receive a package with detailed instructions before the event that includes a highlighted area map to show boundaries and meeting points in the designated neighborhood. Envelopes with letters of introduction are also in the package to leave at homes when no one answers the door. The chaperone is tasked with following and having a constant visual presence of students as they walk through the neighborhoods. Only with express permission of the student's parents, may the chaperone be allowed to transport students other than their own.
At the end of the day, Chaperones will meet up with our BPO contact to drop off the package of maps, envelopes and donations collected. This is an event that is important to our fundraising and keeps your band fees lower. We hope to see you there!
