School Information

Entering Campus

As we did last year, we will maintain a students-only playground/campus during school hours. Families are welcome to wait with their student(s) outside the gate until the bell rings. We will have staff outside helping and directing students to their classrooms. 
- The front (West) Primary Gate opens at 8:45am - Please arrive after the gates open to ensure supervision is available.
- The back Brinkby Gate opens at 8:50am- Please arrive after the gates open to ensure supervision is available.

All visitors should report to the Main Office at the front of the school (Berrum Lane). Main Office check-in, student check-out and visitor badges are managed through our LobbyGuard system. If you are not a WCSD-badged employee and would like to enter our school, you will need to present your driver's license and receive a visitor's badge.

What to Bring

Students can bring backpacks and school supplies with them to school, though this is not a requirement. We have stocked classrooms with all of the learning materials students need to be prepared for the school day. We do recommend students bringing their own water bottles that can be refilled at the drinking fountains. If you do send supplies from home, please make sure they are labeled with the student's name. Ensure that your child can open and close the bottles independently.

Sending a lunch with your child to school is optional. All students are provided the opportunity to eat breakfast and lunch at school. If you do plan to send food with your child, please review our food guidelines.

Checking-Out Your Student from Class

If you are picking-up/checking-out students, please do so at the Main Office. This will help us track your child's attendance and missed instruction. You will be asked to show your Driver's License and your child's name and teacher along with the reason for the late arrival.

Please plan additional time or leave plenty of time to have your child called out of class and check out with the front desk staff.

End of the school day

All gates will be open for students to exit at the end of the school day. Families are able to meet students outside of the gate once students exit campus. The gates will be closed and secured for our after-school program ten minutes after our final bell rings. If students need to exit the campus after that time, they will be directed to exit the main entrance.

Please plan to pick your child up on time. School ends at 3:00pm daily except on Wednesday's early release (2:15pm).

School Hours

Please note the following times:

- 8:45am: Morning recess supervision begins. Please do not send students to school before 8:45am.
- 8:57am: First bell rings.
- 9:00am: Tardy bell rings, school begins.

School day ends:

- 3:00pm on regular scheduled days
- 2:15pm on early release days (Wednesdays)

Morning Entrance Gates

There are two entrance gates that will open in the morning. This helps us provide adequate supervision of students entering school grounds in the morning. Please make sure your children do not arrive too early.

- Front, West Side Gate (Pre-K side) - Opens @ 8:45am
- Back gate - Opens @ 8:50am
