Huffaker Elementary School
  • Dear Huffaker Families,

With one of the largest snowstorms hitting our region at the end of January, two snow days closed our school. So far, school has been cancelled three times this year; one day due to smoke from the wildfires at the beginning of school and two days due to heavy snow. These days will be made up June 7, 8 and 9. Our last day of school will be Wednesday, June 9th. If school needs to be canceled again this year, the district will explore options and will keep us apprised.

Our biggest fundraiser of the year kicks off Tuesday, February 16th with Apex Leadership Co program. This is a 2 week interactive school leadership program. The program takes students through lessons focused around Mindfulness, Integrity, Grit, Hero’s, Thinking ahead and Your turn (MIGHTY). On Thurs. Feb. 25th students get to complete 36 fitness moves to finish off the program. We need your donation or pledge. Please register at www.MyApexEvent.comwith your child’s access code. Money raised supports our PTA, which directly supports our classrooms and students.

Spring Picture day will be Friday, February, 26th and Reading week will be the week of March 1st – March 5th. Our library will be hosting a Virtual Book Fair! We can’t wait for you to view all the wonderful books it has to offer.

Spring Break will be March 15th – March 26th with students returning Monday March, 29th. If your family has plans for international air travel, please remember current CDC guidelines require that travelers be tested for COVID 3-5 days after returning, and quarantine for a minimum of 7 days. Individuals who do not want to be tested must quarantine for 10 days upon their return.

Thank you for your continued support!

    Mrs. Anderson
