4th Grade Parents,
The Sexuality Health and Responsibility Education ( S.H.A.R.E ) curriculum has been changed this year for all Elementary schools students. The WCSD Board of trustees recently approved this updated 4th and 5th grade S.H.A.R.E curriculum. Before instruction occurs, I encourage all of you to preview the material so that you know what will be taught to your students.
This year all students must have a permission slip signed to participate or not in S.H.A.R.E. I will be sending these permissions home next week so please look for them and get them returned as soon as possible. I have put together all the S.H.A.R.E information on the school website under Counselor and have attached a link to Padlet for you to view at your own convenience.
Please take time to watch the Parent Preview and if you have any questions, please contact Colleen Tuttle or Selena Large, the counselors at Lemmon Valley.
S.H.A.R.E will be done for 4th grade on December 15-21. The counselors will be presenting the curriculum lessons during their science time.

Counseling Corner
Lemmon Valley Elementary School
Hello Lemmon Valley Families,
My name is Colleen Tuttle and I am your new Lemmon Valley Counselor. I am very excited to be here at Lemmon Valley and look forward to meeting all of you and interacting with your students.
Here is a little bit of information about who I am. I have been a counselor for 13 years in the WCSD. I was a counselor on the Peace Gran for 5 yrs. and worked with O’Brien, Cold Springs, Stead, and Sun Valley. Other schools I have worked at are Palmer, Lois Allen, and Natchez. I am married and have 3 Children and 7 Grandchildren. I love to travel, hang out with my grandkids, jet ski, camp, shopping and go sailing. I love adventure and can’t wait to see what this year will bring.
This year is going to be unique because of the restrictions that Covid-19 has pace on us all. As a counselor I am aware that many of our students and families coming back to school this year will be anxious and concerned about how things will be. In response to this I have put together a few links that you can access that will hopefully help you though this year.
The First Link is a Calming Corner with multiple activities, videos and links to help both children and adults.

The second link is a resource page for families and students with phone numbers and links to services in our area.

The last link is a counselor referral form. If you would like me to contact, you directly please fill out the form and I will contact you as soon as I am able.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me either through e-mail. ctuttle@washoeschools.net

Counselor Corner
This Month is Career Month here at Lemmon Valley Elementary and our counseling guidance lessons will focus on interest surveys, learning about different career in our world, and talking about what we want to be when we grow up. I have created a site with multiple videos showing students what it’s like to be in these careers. Below is a QR code and link to the website. Take some time explore some of the interesting careers that are out there for our students.
Don’t forget to dress up on Wednesday May 19 as what you want to be. Students can come dressed up as their favorite career. (ex. Nurse, cowboy, racecar driver, artist, firefighter ect.
