    A NOTE FROM MRS. LAUF:

    • The Husky Howl-o-ween Festival was a huge success!!  Thank you to the PTA Board, and all of the volunteers for their hard work to make it so much fun for students and their families.
    • Please choose a meeting spot outside of the school building to pick up your children after school.
    • Our lost and found has become very full of jackets, hats, lunch boxes, and clothes.  On December 14th any unclaimed items will be picked up and donated to a local charity.  Please remind your child to check the lost and found, or if you are in the building take a look to see if you find your child's items.
    • Dr Zeff's Dentistry is again offering a candy buy back for your extra Halloween candy.  Bring your unopened candy to their office and they will buy back your candy for $2 per pound.  The dates for this buy back are November 5-9th, 8:30-4:00 pm.  All candy will be donated to our troops serving over seas.  The Zeff office is located at 65 Foothill Road, Ste. 1.  Please see the flyer in the Hunsberger Resources section of our newsletter for more information.

    COUNSELOR'S CORNER:

Happy November Families! The holidays are fast approaching and shopping has already begun.  If you are a family that is struggling this year and are unable to provide gifts for your children, please contact me.  We offer a holiday 'Angel Tree', where your Hunsberger families purchase and wrap gifts for students and families in need.

To receive gifts, please call 851-7095 or email me (eeftimoff@washoeschools.net).  We understand the need for privacy and number code all gift tags for purchase.  Student names are only added to wrapped gifts, just prior to picking up your packages.  We will again support Veterans Memorial Elementary School as well, and will provide Christmas gifts for six of their families.

Hunsberger families that would like to help, can simply choose a tag off the Angel Tree, purchase and wrap gifts, and attach the tag.  Look for the Angel Tree in the front office after Thanksgiving break.  Thanks so much for caring about others and all you do for kids!

    Your School Counselor,

    Mrs. Eftimoff

    HUNSBERGER HONOR CHOIR INFORMATION:

The Honor Choir has been invited once again this year to sing at the Summit Mall's "Lights Up!" event, which takes place on Saturday, November 17th from 5:30-7:00 pm.  The choir traditionally sings carols at the beginning of the event for 30 minutes, after which students may rejoin their parents to enjoy the remainder of the evening's events.  This is NOT a field trip, and students must be accompanied by a parent.  Attire for this event is a choir shirt and jeans.  Students may wear Santa hats and a long-sleeved shirt under their choir shirt, as it tends to get very cold during this event. The Summit Mall Hold Harmless form that was sent home must be signed by you and returned to school in order for your child to be eligible to sing at the event.

Addtional Upcoming Choir Dates (for choir members only)

Tuesday, December 4th-Choir Winter Concert at 6:30 pm, Hunsberger MP Room

    HUSKY ARTS:

We had our first planning meeting for Fine Arts Night, which is scheduled for March 5th. We will be going with a "Sun" theme.  We will be doing a version of the platters, from past years.  We are looking at round chargers for this year.  Chelcey will have them ordered and available soon and she will also have another "Ideas Binder" to inspire your creative juices!  More info to come but thought we would let you get stared on your ideas.  Reminder, these pieces will be auctioned off at Fine Arts Night, to help support your art program.  Also, we will be letting the teachers know, but as art projects are completed in class, instead of sending them home, we would like to keep a few aside to display for Fine Arts Night.

    Thanks for your support!
