     COUNSELOR CORNER:

This past week, our 2nd, 4th, and 6th graders received a lesson on safety from the staff at the Child Assault and Prevention Project.  Topics covered how to recognize and avoid dangerous situations such as bullying, strangers, predators, and what are safe and unsafe touches.  I hope you will have a chance to talk to your child about this program.

I will be doing the SHARE lessons (PowerPoint and discussion), in early April for all 4th, 5th, and 6th graders.  A Parent Preview Night is set for Tuesday, March 10th.  A flyer was sent home with students (4th grade at 5:00 pm, 5th grade at 6:00 pm and 6th grade at 7:00 pm).  Parent permission forms for SHARE are only sent home to those who did not identify yes or no on Infinite Campus during registration.

I will also show the Better Safe Than Sorry videos to all Kindergarten, First, Third, and Fifth graders in late April and early May.  This program focuses on safety, including what to do around strangers, appropriate and inappropriate touches, and who to go to for help.  A passive parent permission form will be sent home in April.

    Have a wonderful Spring Break!

    Thank you,

    Mrs. Eftimoff

    HUSKY ARTS:

The month of March will have a big texture focus!  Kindergarten, Second, Fourth and Sixth will all be working with various topics within the realm of texture.  We can't wait to see what will soon grace our hallways.  Fifth grade will learn about value.  Tints and Shades have been all over our building during February and it's been exciting to help our students learn the difference!  First grade will get to experience their first photography unit.  Third grade will work on form while creating clay cupcake pinch pots.

Husky Arts t-shirts are now available for purchase, until 3/19.  They will be delivered to students at Fine Arts Night.  Please use the following link to order.  Husky Arts T-Shirts-CANCELLED
