Welcome to Sepulveda Elementary: Home of the Skyrockets! We are thrilled to have you and your child(ren) join us in our shared journey of learning and growth. Through collaboration and partnership between families and staff, we aim to support the success of every student. Our school values the strong relationships we build with our families and cherishes the connections within our school. Together, we can create an environment where every child can thrive and achieve their full potential. Transportation:
Bus information can be found on the transportation page directly on the district website. You must live 1.25 miles away from the school to be eligible for a bus. Information regarding zoning or the school year can be found on the WCSD website: www.washoeschools.net/Domain/73The earliest students will be able to be on the playground is 8:40 a.m. Duty teachers will not be outside until then. Breakfast begins at 8:40 a.m. Students will enter through the cafeteria doors.
Parking Lot Safety Rules:- Pull up as far as possible when dropping your student off in the drop zone on Ion Drive and do not jay walk.
- In the morning, if you drive into the parking lot, please pull into a parking space. Do not drop off students as you drive through this lot.
- Staff parking lot (parking lot directly in front of the school) is for families with a legal handicapped sign assigned to the driver or passenger only.
- If you walk your child to class, please stay on the sidewalk and do not walk between the buses into the parking lot. Follow the designated path.
- Plan to have a meeting area with your student(s) after school.
Attendance Information:
If your student is going to be absent or late, please let our office staff know. You can call (775) 626-5257 (option 1), email Mrs. Aparicio at cassandra.aparicio@washoeschools.net or use the new tab in the parent portal on Infinite Campus. Please include the following information: student name, date of absence(s) and the reason for the absence (vacation, sick, doctor appointment, etc.).
Early Release Wednesdays:
All students will be released at 2:15 p.m. every Wednesday so staff can attend professional development training.
Free Breakfast and Lunch:
All students at Sepulveda will receive free breakfast and lunch for the 2024-2025 school year.
Birthday Celebrations and District Snack Exempt Days:
No birthday invitations shall be distributed at school by either teacher or students. Birthday treats must NOT be food related. Due to students with food allergies and our policy on student wellness, please bring non-food items for classroom celebrations such as friendship bracelets, polished stones, funky erasers, bookmarks, beads, bubbles, highlighters, decals, stickers, etc. There are two exempt days each month from the Safe and Healthy Schools policy. Before and After School Program:
We do have a before and after school care program, “Kid Konnection”, located in our multi-purpose room, if you need to bring your child in earlier. Volunteers:
Parents and guardians are welcome to fill out an updated Parent Volunteer form found in the front office. A new form and a copy of your ID is required each calendar year. Please communicate with your child’s teacher for volunteer opportunities. It can take more than two weeks for the district to complete their screening process.
