  • Welcome to the Bud Beasley's Counselor's Corner

Beasley Counseling Mission and Vision Statement:

Bud Beasley Elementary School is committed to providing a comprehensive counseling program that supports the growth and development of the whole person while ensuring a safe, equitable, and positive learning environment for every student.  Wellness is at the heart of our program to ensure that each student and staff member is able to reach their full potential.

Social-emotional and academic success will be supported by providing learning strategies, self-management skills, and social skills. Students will be able to identify their feelings, self-regulate, and communicate with others effectively while demonstrating empathy.  Opportunities for career exploration will be highlighted, and students will be able to link their everyday learning to their future success. The students at Beasley Elementary are courageous learners who use their strengths and talents to help their school, family, and communities.

  • A School Counselor’s Role

My primary responsibility is to promote and teach academic and social and emotional readiness to all students. I look forward to serving students, families, staff, and the Beasley community. I will meet with students for classroom students, small groups, and individually.

Classroom Guidance Lessons – I will be teaching classroom guidance lessons once to twice per month. My lessons will focus on academic development, career development, and life skills.

Short Term Individual Counseling – I will meet with students individually. Any student can request to meet with me. They may also be referred by a teacher, administrator, or parent. If you have any concerns, please reach out to me. If you would like me to meet with your child individually, please do not hesitate to call me.

Short Term Small-Group Counseling – I conduct small groups with 2 or more students. Small Groups meet for 20-30 minutes once a week. Topics may include attendance, study skills, organization skills, self-esteem, social skills, anxiety coping skills, new students, family changes, coping with grief, anger management, and self-regulation. Parent permission is required for a student to participate in a small counseling group.

Parents/Staff/Community – My job is to collaborate with parents, teachers, staff, and community members to benefit and meet the needs of all students/families at Bud Beasley Elementary.
