    Hello Verdi families,


    Please note that Wednesday February 15 is NOT an Early Release day. Students will be released at the regular time of 3:15.


    Also, please do not use the parking lot to pick up your student in the afternoons. This is dangerous for our students and families – we’ve had too many near accidents. Please use the parking spots along the fence, across the street or the library parking lot/turn around.


    Lastly, each year, our district plans for three extra days at the end of the school year, called contingency days to accommodate missed instruction from snow days where students stay home from school due to inclement weather.  If we have more than 3 snow days, your child will work on a Distance Learning packet.  For example, in the event we have a snow day on Monday, 2/6 students will stay home from school, and we will make up that day at the end of the school year.  This day would count as our third snow day.  Any snow day after that would be our fourth snow day.  In the event a fourth snow day or more is called, your child would work on their Distance Learning packet.


    Your child's wonderful teacher has created a Distance Learning packet to prepare for a possible fourth snow day.  Please look for this packet in your child's backpack on Friday, 2/3.  If you have any questions regarding the Distance Learning packets or snow day policy, please contact your child’s teacher or our front office at 345-8100.

    All New and Returning students need to be registered online for the 2023-2024 school year.


    Go to WCSD website: www.washoeschools.net

    1. Click on Students and Parents
    2. Click on Infinite Campus
    3. Click on Parent Portal
    4. Enter your User and Password (If you don’t know your user/password please call the office at 775-345-8100 and Joniece will be happy to help you)
    5. Follow the prompts to complete your online registration.


    If you are adding a student (such as a kindergartner) update your existing student’s information first, then click on the blue “Add a New Student” link.

    If you are new to WCSD follow steps 1 and 2 above, then scroll down to Kindergarten or New to WCSD and follow the prompts to register your student(s). Once that is complete, please bring in your student’s original birth certificate, immunization records and proof of your residence.
